The Conflict Center’s mission is to prevent physical, verbal and emotional violence by partnering with individuals and communities to shift perceptions, attitudes and behaviors through education and skill building. The Conflict Center believes that people of all socioeconomic levels should have access to skills to reduce violence and strengthen relationships and has stayed committed to this approach by providing at least 50% of its services to low income individuals, families, schools and communities for almost 30 years. The Conflict Center brings extensive experience with a variety of curricula and programs in schools that teach violence prevention skills to people of all ages. The core skills The Conflict Center teaches have endured over the  years while also evolving and growing with new evidence-based approaches; the addition of innovative strategies including social norming and restorative justice;  strengthening evaluation methods; and creating new entrepreneurial approaches for packaging curricula and reaching new populations. The Conflict Center stretches every dollar received through the extensive use of well-trained and dedicated interns and volunteers.

Operation Respect is a non-profit education and advocacy organization dedicated to transforming schools, summer camps, and other youth-serving organizations into respectful, safe and compassionate climates of learning, free of bullying, ridicule and violence. Founded in 1999 by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary, and Dr. Charlotte Frank, McGraw-Hill Education senior advisor, we disseminate our own classroom-based curriculum, the “Don’t Laugh at Me,” program, free of charge to schools worldwide. Operation Respect’s inspiring music, SEL curricula, multicultural videos and highly-regarded professional training provide adults with the tools they need to help children express their feelings constructively, resolve conflict peacefully, celebrate diversity, and engage with each other in a spirit of caring, compassion and cooperation.
